| Arangetram: Ananya N. Chandramurthy | |
by Meena Subramanyam
Recently I had the privilege of attending the stellar debutante performance of Ananya Chandramurthy, all of 11 years of age, at the Norwood High School Auditorium in Massachusetts. What captivated my attention about the young dancer on stage was her impeccable araimandi (half-sitting) posture, her well-coordinated hand and eye movements, her angha shuddam (placement of limbs), and the graceful execution of the adavus (steps) with precision.

| Arangetram: Vaishnavi Pillai | by Amrutha Ananth
An arangetram is never just a debut; it is a dialogue between dancer and deity, between body and bhava, between rhythm and rasa. For Vaishnavi Pillai, this evening was not merely about stamina or memory, but about the courage to embody gods in their many moods. Across the performance, she moved fluidly from Krishna’s impish leelas to Hanuman’s loyal strength, from Shiva’s compassionate majesty to the goddess’s quiet radiance, before circling back to Krishna as the cosmic protector.

| Post Arangetram Performance: Sharanya Baradwaj | |
by Suman Adisesh
I attended the arangetram of Sharanya's a few years ago and also was fortunate to see her post arangetram performance recently. Sharanya has been very strong in her emotive skills with a good training in Nritta. She has a good foundation from her Guru, Sunanda, who has spared no efforts in installing the Parampara (tradition) of the Vazhuvoor Bani, which Guru Sunanda herself has so beautifully pursued as imparted by her revered Guru Rhadha. I could see the lineage of the Vazhuvoor bani for three generations which is a rarity these days.

| What Does High Net Worth Mean In 2025? | |
A popular internet meme illustrating the rising cost of housing displays an image of a palatial estate next to an image of an ordinary home. The corresponding captions read, “what I thought a million-dollar house looked like” and “what a million-dollar house actually looks like.” Being a high-net-worth individual (HNWI) is no longer just a status—it defines unique financial needs, opportunities, and risks.

| Deepawali - The Social Significance | by Jaya Asthana
Deep means a lamp and avali means a row. The word literally means a row of lights. We normally think that Deepawali is about a lamplight, a deep. In fact, Deepawali is not about a single deep, it is about many. It is about a collective, an organization, a formation of lamps. It is about the relationship between one lamp and the rest of the lamps in the collective.
