On May 14 2017, the Indian American Association of Sharon held their annual Color Walk at the Sharon High School, an event that goes to show that a little rain cannot dampen the resolution of a community. From Sharon and surrounding areas, over a hundred attendees took part in an afternoon of festivities which followed a 2.5 mile run.

Nine Artful pianos have been beautifully decorated in Newton city each different from the other, as part of the “Artful Piano” project. The one in West Newton is decorated with fabric swatches from many parts of the world including India making it a "multicultural" piece. Grey Held a poet and artist who collaborated with Lakshmi has written a very special “welcoming” poem to celebrate this piano.
