Multi-Language Poet Assembly At Harvard - 26th Annual India Poetry Reading 'Call For Freedom'

The Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute and Department of South Asian Studies Harvard University in association with South Asian Poets of New England (SAPNE) organized its 26th Harvard India Poetry Reading as a virtual poetry meet on Sunday, May 15, 2022. Twenty poets in Boston, one in New York, another in Chicago and two in India joined in the annual meet.

Sur-Singaar With Kiran Nath
Composer, poet Kiran Nath has released her special single - Dabe Paon Chupke Se - a lullaby. The song was released by Vipul Dev from the New York Consulate at a virtual event titled Sur-Singaar, held on July 24, 2022 showcasing music and dance by several artists including a young man from India. Parveen Minocha and Manisha Jain served as emcees for the event.

Shri Sai Chavadi in Canton, MA performed the auspicious event of Shri Balaji Murti Pranaprathistha in the temple on Aug 5th to Aug 7th. The other vigrahas along with Lord Balaji included Jaya and Vijaya, the two dvarapalakas (gatekeepers) of the abode of Vishnu and Garuda the vehicle or vahana of Lord Balaji.

IIT AGNE And Vision Aid Host 3D Printing Table At Independence Day Celebration

IIT AGNE, the association of IIT alumni in New England, is working with Vision Aid, to conduct one day weekend workshops for middle school and high school students in the Greater Boston area to learn 3D Printing, as a unique fundraiser for Vision Aid. In order to raise awareness, they hosted a table at the ISW (Indian Society of Worcester) and IAGB (Indian Association of Greater Boston) Independence Day celebrations on August 6th and 13th, respectively.

Nazraana - A Magnificent Musical Fundraiser!
The spectacular music event, NAZRAANA was held this past Saturday, August 20. The event took place at the Hanover Theater in Worcester, MA. This musical event was a fundraiser for Samarthanam Trust. Close to 1300 people attended the concert, and they agree that a musical event of such magnitude was a rare occurrence.

Akshaya: A Memorable Experience

Sunanda Narayanan, Artistic Director of the Thillai Fine Arts Academy in Newton, MA, celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the founding of her dance school with the presentation of a thematic dance production “Akshaya”. Presented in the traditional Bharatanatyam margam style, Akshaya celebrated the everlasting divinity of Shiva and Shakti through a series of stories from Hindu mythology to highlight the true essence of the cosmic energy.
