India Association of Rhode Island (IARI) celebrated the India Independence Day on August 11th. Nearly 300 Indian Americans from Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts came to the Colt State park in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Solidarity Event Shows Support For Sikhs
On August 23rd, an interfaith service was held at the Trinity Church in Boston. It was jointly hosted by the Islamic Council of New England, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston and the Massachusetts Council of Churches to honor the victims of the mindless tragedy at the Sikh Temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.

An Epic Journey – SETU's Dramatization Of Mahabharata Is A Resounding Success!
The dramatization of the famous Indian epic, the Mahabharata, by Belmont, MA based director Subrata Das and his team of 25 actors was a commendable one. SETU (Stage Ensemble Theatre Unit), a non-profit theatre group in Boston area staged the English play at the Arsenal Center of Arts in Watertown, MA earlier this month.

Clarinetist Shankar Tucker Enthralls Audience At MIT
Clarinetist Shankar Tucker, whose highly popular YouTube channel The ShrutiBox showcases Indian-themed music, performed to a wildly cheering audience at the Kresge Auditorium at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on Sunday, Nov 4. Close to 900 people were in attendance.
