Gujarati Sugam Sangeet
Ashit Desai’s rich and melodious voice has captivated audiences worldwide. Ashit and Hema have contributed significantly in popularizing GujaratiSugam Sangeet. Well known for his light classical, devotional and folk music, Ashitis a sought after composer for dramas, dance ballets, TV serials and films. He has been closely associated with Pandit Ravi Shankar when he placed Ashit for arranging music for ‘Asiad’ which won him ‘Asiad Jyoti’ medal. Ashit has been honored time and again by the music world. He has composed semi-classical and devotional songs rendered by Padmashri Ajay Chakravarti, Hariharan, Jagjeet Singh, Suresh Wadkarand others. Hemangini has delighted the listeners with her beautiful & soulful voice. Her study of both music and literature is reflected in the intensity with which she sings light classical music, devotional songs and traditional folk music. Dr. Nishikant Sonwalkar, An All India Radio and Doordarshan solo artist from Indore Gharana.He has accompanied eminent light music and classical vocalists and instrumentalists. Nishikant has also played in Jazz-Fusion CDs. Dr. Sonwalkar is Master Teacher at the Learn Quest Academy of Music, Boston .
