The Essentials of Hinduism/ Chinmaya Andover
Chinmaya Mission Boston is offering free Summer Course Offering on Sundays in the Andover Center. This is Open to all. Who is a Hindu? The Essentials of Hinduism 7 sessions. June 19, 26, July 10, 24,31, Aug 7 and 14 The Essentials of Hinduism.... Instructors: Dilip Mathur and Shashi Dwarakanath For whom: Meant for Hindus and Non Hindus, Members and non-members. College kids and adults, high school seniors. No prior knowledge of Hinduism required. Instructors' talks are simple, clear and entertaining. Course Outline: Beliefs Worship - deities, significance of idols Life stages and rites of passage (samskaras), and Dharma Family life - wedding vows, festivals, parenting Personal spiritual development and practices- Sadhana Hindu view of God and nature of reality and creation Spiritual philosophy, including karma, life and death Comparison with other religions
