| Prana Pratishtapana Anniversary Mahotsav Prana Pratishtapana Anniversary Mahotsav (June 24, 25 and 26, 2011) Dear Sisters & Brothers: The weekend of June 24, 25 and 26, 2011 is special to the Hindu community in Connecticut. Beginning on Friday evening through Sunday afternoon your children and you can enjoy the opportunity to participate in the festivities to celebrate the 12th anniversary of sanctification of your temple. It has been twelve years since the presiding deities (Lord Satyanarayana, His consorts Mahalakshmi and Bhudevi), Mahaganapati and the Navagrahas were installed for all time. Time is right to commemorate those accomplishments of the Hindu community here in CT. Please pencil those dates on your calendar now and make sure to ask your children in college to plan to be here then. Bring them and your grandchildren along with your friends and neighbors. Our faith says Ekam Sat Viprah Bahudha Vadanti (Truth is one but the wise express it in a variety of ways) and so feel free to bring along your non-Hindu friends to these festivities. We have just registered a dedicated website www.utsav12.org and it is under construction. It will be accessible directly from the temple website. The Utsav site should contain all details pertaining to puja sponsorships, cultural activities etc. In the meantime please watch the temple site for further details. We will soon be announcing a variety of pujas and rituals which your children and you can sponsor, witness, participate and offer prayers. We will organize weekend meetings soon for learning chants to use during the events. Your children and grandchildren can write essays on such topics as “What does my temple mean to me?†for students in Middle School and “What does being Hindu mean to me?†for students in High School. Also members of sub-ethnic groups such as Tamil Sangam, Kannada Koota, Maharastra Mandal, etc. may please plan an event (group music offering, a play, a contest, a dance etc.) that lasts no more than an hour for presentation on one of the three days of the festivities. This is your celebration and the focus is your children and grandchildren. Let this be a learning process for them. Teach them the values that made you what you are. Let us meet and have a great celebration and seek His blessings.
