Evening Book Discussion-Slumdog Millionaire/Q&A
The Last Wednesday Book Group will discuss Vikas Swarup's Slumdog Millionaire on Wednesday evening, April 28, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Library. This book was titled 'Q & A' when it was first published, but has been released again with this new title after the huge success of the film Slumdog Millionaire. Anna Papalegis will lead a discussion of this fascinating book, a Cinderella story set in modern day India, with an improbable if wonderfully happy ending. Comparisons of the book and the film will be inevitable: the two are quite different, and it will be interesting to discuss why a filmmaker might have chosen to change the parts of the story that he did. New readers are always welcome to join in this group's discussions! Copies of each month's book are available at the library's front desk by the first of each month. A discussion leader guides the group, and light refreshments are served.
