| Improving Child-Parent Communication in South Asian Families Saheli Workshops on Improving Child-Parent Communication in South Asian Families on March 27, 2010, from 10:30-3:00 pm. Lunch included. Saheli Support and Friendship for South Asian Women offers a FREE workshop for South Asian parents and children to discuss how inter-generational communication (IGC) can be improved in South Asian families. We invite you to attend, participate and gain more knowledge on this important topic. The workshop will be held on Saturday March 27, from 10:30-3:00 pm at Burlington Senior Center, 61 Center Street in Burlington MA. 10:30-12:30 pm. Professionals in the field will show ways to reduce conflict between generations in a respectful and culturally sensitive way. They will discuss how to reduce conflict in extended, close-knit families, and show children, parents and grandparents how to seek help as needed. 12:30-1:30 pm Free Lunch 1:30 -3:00 pm. Information from the Saheli community surveys and the March 13 workshop will be shared. Police Officer and School Counselors will discuss what problems they confront and discuss ways to keep South Asian families safe. Saheli members will share resources to build healthy parent-child communication. Space is limited to 25 children and youth and 25 adults and seniors. Preregistration is required.
