WISDOM AND BLISS RETREAT
Bliss Sunday, Jan 12 2014 9-10:30: Serenity Sundays with Pranayama - Ritu Kapur An extended version of Serenity Sundays class with emphasis on yogic breathing (pranayama). We will practise 5 different pranayama techniques to energize the body and calm the mind and discuss how to practice pranayama safely and effectively at home. We will also do yoga poses to complement each pranayama and end the workshop with a short meditation. 10:45-12:15: Mindful Living - Lisa Campbell In this experiential workshop, you will learn why cultivating present moment awareness is instrumental for a healthy and engaged life. You will learn simple and powerful mindfulness techniques that you can begin to use immediately, including breath and body awareness, and mindful eating practices. We will have a mindful communication experience and discuss why bringing mindful awareness to the way we communicate with ourselves and others can greatly improve our relationships.. Lunch Break: 12:15-1:15pm 1:15-2:45pm: Yoga for Stress relief - Laura Searles Exhausted and Overwhelmed? This workshop will help you release tension in your body and mind, while discovering your inner peace. You will learn stress-reducing yoga poses, mindful stretching, breathing techniques, guided relaxation and meditation. (No physical assists). 3:00-4:30pm: Accessing the Subtle Energies through Yoga - Eileen Nikopoulos and Nicole Percuoco This practice draws inspiration from kundalini yoga and meridian yoga using breathwork and physical postures to open the energy pathways of the body. Meridian yoga is based on the same energy meridians that are accessed in acupressure/acupuncture while Kundalini uses breath to ignite the life force. This is a great practice to enliven yourself for the New Year.
