Say No to dilution of Nuclear Liability Act
About: Mr. Salman Khurshid, Hon. Minister of External Affairs, India will make a public address at Harvard Kennedy School on US-India Relations. Under sustained pressure from the Obama administration, the Manmohan Singh government is looking to effectively neutralize a key provision of India’s nuclear liability law that would hold American reactor suppliers liable in the event of an accident caused by faulty or defective equipment. American nuclear vendors Westinghouse and GE have lobbied hard with Washington and Delhi to have this provision amended or removed. This Visit of Hon. Prime Minister and Hon. Minister for External Affairs is to convince US Administration and Businesses, that their interests will be met! But this cannot be at the expense of the interests of the country and the safety and security of Indian citizens. Let us send a message to Hon. Minister!
