Flute Concert by Taejas Srinivasan, Student of Shashank Come join us this Friday evening in Wong auditorium for a melodious concert performed by an upcoming Indian flute artist, Taejas. He will be playing a wide range of pieces to showcase the breadth of Indian music, both North and South Indian. Taejas is a versatile flautist, who has the great fortune to learn from the Flute Maestro Shashank, an internationally acclaimed flute master from India. He has been learning carnatic flute (South Indian style) from his Guru Shashank since the age of 9. He has been learning Hindustani (North Indian style) flute from Shri Butto, a disciple of the Flute Master Chaurasia. Taejas has been giving concerts at several venues for the past few years including the Trinity Festival at the George Mason University and the Lotus Temple at Fairfax, VA. He has won the first prize several times at the Cleveland Carnatic Music Festival. Taejas is a freshman at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Alexandria, VA.
