New England Dance Community Unites Again For Vision-Aid

This year’s event is Charmer, Warrior, Guide – The endearing Story of Krishan, set to mesmerize New England on Sunday July 16th at 4PM.

Meet ‘The Fab 10’ Ekal villagers: Natthi Amoli, Radheshyam, Sumitra, Neena, Priya, Johan Singh, Dileshwar, Sandip, Gitmala, and Tilak Chandra, who toured over 70 locations around the US. For some, they were stepping out of their village for the first time. For others, it was getting used to sleeping on beds.

Ananya Venkatesan’s passion for dance is well-known in the New England community. In addition to being an avid participant in competitions, cultural performances and Vision-Aid productions, she also choreographs and teaches Bollywood and folk dances to younger children.

Strings N Beats is a unique dialogue between dance and music to be held on Sunday, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, on November 19, 2017 at Cary Hall in Lexington, MA. Organized by Shadaj (a non-profit organization founded by volunteers from Lexington and the greater Boston area).

"Ode To The Bells" - An Energetic Exhibition Of Enthralling Dedication At Natyanjali

It was '”back to school time” at Westford, MA based Natyanjali School of dance - for the ebullient aspirants as well as the tactful Guru Jeyanthi Ghatraju. The Guru is an adorer of the traditional ethics she has set for herself over long years and insists the same in every outfit of her school - be it entertainment for the elderly or a charity program.

Boston Bhangra 2017: A Huge Success
The 14th year of Boston Bhangra was a huge success with over 2000 people in attendance and unbelievable performances by the teams. The Boston Bhangra Competition, called BBC for short, was hosted on November 11th, 2017 at the Orpheum Theatre. The winners were Philadelphia Bhangre De Shokeen, Michigan Bhangra Team and Virginia School of Bhangra - Waris.

Lokvani Rising Stars In Dance
The Boston area is blessed to have youngsters who work hard for six to eight years to gain proficiency in classical dance and perform an Arangetram. Some have competed at National Competitions. We present the Rising Stars in Dance to students of Jayashree Bala Rajamani, Jothi Raghavan, Kalaimangai Anbalagan, Neena Gulhati, Ranjani Saigal, Sridevi Thirumalai, Sunanda Narayanan and Veena Telli. They will be honored at the event on the Community and Youth Night to be held on Dec. 16. More Information on the Event.
