Classical Vocal concert featuring Smt. Gauri Pathare with Amit Kavthekar on tabla and Ramchandra Joshi on harmonium.
Gauri Pathare:
Gauri's interest in Hindustani classical music was aroused by listening to her mother who herself was a disciple of Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Gauri's initial gurus were her mother Dr.Vidya Damle and Pt. Gangadharbuwa Pimpalkhare from the kirana gharana. Later on Gauri was fortunate enough to receive taleem for 5 years from Padmashri Pt.Jitendra Abhisheki. She won numerous accolades at the inter state and national level at this time. Gauri started receiving taleem from eminent vocalist Smt.Padma Talwalkar from 1994 onwards. Padmatai successfully blended the gayaki of jaipur and gwalior gharanas into Gauri's music. Gauri has learnt advanced voice culture techniques from Ustaad Sayeedudin Dagar. Since 2010 Gauri is receiving talim from Pt.Arun Dravid,one of the senior-most disciples of Smt Mogubai Kurdikar and Smt Kishori Aamonkar. Gauri holds a degree in computer science but music has always been her first love. Gauri has also won the All India Radio competition.
Amit Kavthekar:
Young and talented Amit Kavthekar is a 'GANDA-BANDH SHAGIRD' of Ustad Allarakha. Since 1991, he has also received training in intricacies of Tabla playing from Ustad Zakir Hussain, Amit had his basic training in tabla from Shri Ashok Godbole, at the Allarakha Institute of Music. From 1997, Deepak Nerurkar, another brilliant tabla maestro, imparted his art to Amit. Recently awarded the 'Taal Mani' by Sur Singar Sansad. Amit is presently learning intricacies of Delhi Gharana from Guru Pandit Sudhir Mainkar.
Ramchandra Joshi:
Ramchandra Joshi is an accomplished vocalist as well as an established harmonium player. Inducted to the world of music at the tender age of 8 years, he trained with Smt. Krishna Mukherjee and Smt. Sraboni Mukherjee in Light Classical Music. He currently receives guidance from the renowned vocalist of Gwalior Gharana, Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe. He has toured extensively in India, USA, UK and Switzerland.
