World Music: Zakir Hussain, Kumaresh Rajagopalan, and Jayanthi Kumaresh
Each renowned for exceptional individual accomplishments, Zakir Hussain, Kumaresh Rajagopalan, and Jayanthi Kumaresh come together to offer a virtuosic performance of traditional Indian classical music with flavors of southern India’s Carnatic music. Tabla superstar Zakir Hussain is celebrated the world over for his dazzling and mesmerizing performances. Kumaresh Rajagopalan, one of India’s top Carnatic violinists, is known for his brilliant musical interpretations with numerous artists including his brother Ganesh. Jayanthi Kumaresh is recognized as one of the world’s top performers on the veena, a plucked string instrument considered by many to be a celestial instrument with ties to ancient times.
