4th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Meeting- A Huge Success

City of Quincy recently held its 4th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Meeting at Sons of Italy in Quincy to coincide with National Day of Prayer, which is observed around the country, each year on 1st Thursday in May.
The tradition was started by Mayor Thomas P. Koch, to foster communal harmony, bringing about 60 houses of worship of various faith's together in prayer.
The Hindu faith was represented by Keshav Shukla, President of Vrindavan Preservation Society, Joseph Towsend who sang an English/Sanskrit bhajan on Guitar and Kumu Gupta, member of the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast Meeting Steering Committee for past 3 years.
The event was attended by close to 200 people and benefitted the Interfaith Social Services (focused on hunger, mental health and emergency assistance), Quincy's Salvation Army and Esther Sanger Center for Compassion (Quincy Crisis Center).

Kumu Gupta, Quincy resident, launched a new Blog Talk Radio show KTalk covering topics from all walk of life like history, politics, art and culture with guests both local and international. Kumu produced and hosted her own radio show on news and music, Live (2 years) in college on WUSB90.1FM, which was heard all over Long Island (N.Y.). Kumu was first , guest on a radio show in high school. At present Kumu is independant Host and Producer of her own TV show "Talk of the Town" which can be seen on QATV.
