Annual 2010 One For India Fundraising Campaign

Press Release

In this season of giving and reflection as the year comes to an end, AID launches its annual 2010 One for India Fundraising campaign (www.oneforindia.org) to highlight a message of hope and courage from the grassroots of India. It starts with ONE drop to make an ocean or ONE individual to start to make a positive difference in the lives of the most underprivileged section of Indian society. Your ONE contribution – however small you may think it is, will create a ripple and form a wave – a wave for just, equitable, sustainable and developed India.

A four star Charity Navigator rated organization, AID stands out with its holistic approach in tackling tough issues on the ground in an interconnected way by focusing on many focus areas with an approach of partnering with exemplary community based non-profits in India. AID works with its partners in India to humbly change lives through sustainable agriculture, healthcare for the poorest, education for those left out, exploring alternative energy options for the rural poor, translating pro-people governmental policies such as NREGA and RTI to action on the ground and defending the human rights of the marginalized. With over a 1000 volunteers spread across the United States who meet and discuss these projects and issues on a weekly basis, we hope to contribute our small share in addressing the issues of poverty and development with the community at large.

AID is targeting to raise $250,000 for the One For India 2010 Fundraising campaign year. We invite you to learn more about AID, our work and campaigns, visit our projects and partners, and share your ideas with folks on the ground. We appeal to you to extend a hand of support with a tax deductible donation (Federal Tax Id: 04-3652609) online at www.oneforindia.org. Learn more about AID at www.aidindia.org.
