Global Peace Secretariat receives President's Volunteer Service Gold Medal Award for 2nd Anniversary
Global Peace Secretariat is recipient of President's Volunteer Service Gold Medal Award 2023-2024 for its 2nd Anniversary. The award comes with a Gold Medal, Certificate and White House Letter signed by President Biden. Secretary General Kumu Gupta is a President's Volunteer Service Lifetime Achievement Award recipient 2012.
Global Peace Secretariat, an initiative on global peace was founded and launched by Secretary General Kumu Gupta on Oct. 2nd 2022 , 15th Ann. U.N. International Day of Non Violence marked by U.N. for Mahatma Gandhi's birthday. Some highlights of the past year, leading up to the 2nd Anniversary, were being invited to the White House for 30th Ann. VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) authored by then Senator Biden, submitting "Don't Hurt Me No More" song written and sung by Kumu Gupta as entry for Grammy Awards Best Song for Social Change Award 2024, "Women's Rights" art image becoming an entry for UNSDG "Art for Social Justice" Award 2024, hosting an event with legendary Music Director Uttam Singh & his daughter Preeti Uttam for 15th August India's Independence Day and launching "Women's Walk of Fame" with women whose journey is about global peace with an added segment "Legacy Daughters" of daughter's and grand or great grand daughters of peace icons like Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. King. And in an unprecedented move, Global Peace Secretariat was excited to have a 1st in US history with WBZ CBS Boston local TV station doing a Special Diwali and Holi 2023-24 Weather Forecast with festive images for the first time ever, a tradition that will be continued into the future.
