IAB Diwali 2021 Celebration At The Burlington Town Common

Diwali, or Deepavali, a Sanskrit word meaning "rows of lighted lamps," the most popular festival among all Indians, it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. During the five-day celebration — also known as the "festival of lights" — clay lamps known as diyas are lit to signify the victory of good over evil.

Diwali is Diwali also celebrates the goddess of wealth and prosperity, Lakshmi. The Diwali story are based on where they live, but mainly it marks the story of King Rama's return to Ayodhya after he defeated Ravana by lighting rows of clay lamps.

IAB – Indian Americans for Burlington is very grateful and excited to celebrate 'The Festival of Lights – Diwali' on September 26th from 4PM to 7PM in Burlington Town Common with Selectmen and other dignitaries in attendance. The IAB team has the event planned with dance programs, activities, and other booths.

The Gazebo will be decorated to represent on how everyone decorates their home with lights, Rangolis and colorful ornament. There will be vendors and food stall for shopping Indian clothes and to enjoy the taste of Indian food.
