Besan Ke Ladoo


2 cups besan or gram flour

1/3 cup milk

1 tbsp melted ghee

1/1/4 cup ghee

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp cardamom powder

¼ cup sliced almonds


Add the melted ghee and the milk to the gram flour and mix well. Cover and set aside for ½ hour.

Strain through a coarse sleeve to make it grainy. Melt the rest of the ghee in a thick vessel. Add the prepared flour and roast till it turns light pink. Now add the powdered sugar, cardamom and sliced almonds. Remove from the stove and cool. When the mixture is still warm make small round ladoos.


Shahi Malai Tukde


10 slices of bread

1 litre milk

1/3 cup sugar

¼ tsp cardamom powder

2 tbsps khoya ( mawa)

3 tbsp powdered sugar

A pinch of saffron dissolved in warm water


Almonds and pistachios

 Cut the bread into round circles and deep fry in ghee to gloden brown.

Heat the milk with the sugar and cardamom powder. Put 2 rounds of fried bread in a shallow frying pan and pour milk to cover , simmer till milk is absorbed. When fully absorbed and dry repeat with the rest. Now take a plate, arrange the bread rounds. Combine the khoya, saffron and sugar and whip to a creamy consistency. Spread on sides of the plate. Decorate with nuts
