S’mbles carries a wide range of Salwar Kameez, Ghagra Cholis and Short Kurtas with pants, Kurtis and fancy gold plated jewelry. Featuring well-tailored garments which are not typical ‘off the rack’, they are Renu Gupta’s designs and are motivated by one of Renu’s driving influences - “What one wears is a reflection of their personality and character.” The hues are vibrant; the fabrics are fluid with an array of georgettes, crepes, variety of silks and jamevar. The embroidered outfits are delicately accented with sequins, zardosi, beadwork and other handwork.
Renu’s inclination towards the fine arts and her creative side led her to Lasell College, Newton, MA, where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design and Production. S’mbles was established in 1990 in Mumbai and re-established in Boston when she migrated here.
Renu has received several awards. Her accomplishments include Award for the Best Contemporary Design, 1996; The David Josef Award for Fashion Design, 1997; and a Certificate for Excellence in Fashion Design and Production, 1998. S’mbles has organized several Fashion Shows in the community, working with different Indian organizations and local colleges, including Miss Teen Massachusetts, IAGB’s Independence Day celebration and MIT.
Now for Diwali, S’mbles is all set to introduce a brand new collection of the latest styles from India.
