An Evening with Mohan Agashe
Mohan Agashe will discuss his experiences as a prominent Bollywood character actor in a career spanning more than 3 decades. There will be opportunities to ask him questions about his acting career and work as a prominent Indian psychiatrist advocating for mental health education and services, including policy reform.
All proceeds will benefit the India Scholars Program to support low income students of Indian American origin and to recognize the achievements and contributions of UMass Boston Indian students. Distinguished Indian film and theater actor and psychiatrist Mohan Agashe is a recipient of many awards, among them India's highest national honor for the arts, the prestigious Sangeet Natak award. He was conferred the Padma Shri award by the president of India, the Cross of the Order of Merit from the president of the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Goethe Medal. Agashe has also contributed to mental health policy.
