Sargam, An evening of Indian Classical Music and Dance
The event includes performances on the Veena by Prof. David Reck of Amherst College, Tabla by Sanket Acharya and Rohit Panchakshari of Hampshire College and Debayan Kanjilal from UMass Amherst, Ghatam by Basha from Amherst and Violin by Usha Viswanathan from UMass Amherst. LeSantha Naidoo and Neha Raikar from UMass Amherst will give a Bharatnatyam Dance performance and a Hindustani vocal performance will be given by Smt. Sagarika Kanjilal.
The event is a fundraiser for VSEI Amherst Chapter, to help support education related projects in India. A part of the proceeds from this event will also be forwarded to support earthquake relief efforts in India and Pakistan.
