Guitarist Prasanna at Chelmsford Public Library
World Wide Wednesday concert series featuring guitarist Prasanna and his Jazz/Fusion Quintet Promoted by Chelmsford Public Library in celebration of 350th anniversary of Chelmsford town. Supported in part by the Friends of the Library and by a grant from the Chelmsford Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. (If rain or threat of rain, concert will be held at the Chelmsford Senior Center, 75 Groton Road, North Chelmsford) Join us on the lawn at the MacKay Library for a unique concert of Jazz fused with Indian Classical Carnatic music featuring Prasanna and his great band. Prasanna is highly accomplished in integrating this ancient art form with modern Jazz, Rock, Blues and numerous world musical styles, thereby evolving a unique musical identity as a guitarist and composer. He has performed with Joe Lovano, A.R. Rahman, Victor Wooten, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Larry Coryell, Umayalpuram Sivaraman, Steve Smith, Aka Moon, Alphonso Johnson, Jeff Coffin, Ralph Hphrey, Marc Rossi and others. Prasanna's arranging/orchestration credits include the title score for the Oscar nominated Bollywood film 'Lagaan'.
