Raagmaaala Concert - Sarangi and Tabla
An enchanting evening of Indian Classical Music featuring performances by the exquisite Pundit Ramesh Misra on the Sarengi and Shri Nitin Mitta on the Tabla. Pundit Ramesh Misra represent the 21st generation of a family of musicians from Benares. He is one of the few masters of this difficult and unique string instrument. Nitin Mitta will provide percussion accompaniment on the Tabla. Nitin has performed with several eminent musicians and brings great energy to every performance. He respresent the Farukhabad percussion tradition of India. ** Partially funded by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts
