KHANAK for the benifit of Support-A-Child project Our upcoming production “Khanak - The Sound of the Divine and Folklore†is a melodious, magnificent, ecstatic and creative dance choreography. Khanak literally referring to the sweet sound of the bangles, is a dance ballet extraordinaire that creates an aura and leaves an everlasting impression on the audience like the tinkling sound of the auspicious bells. Precise yet pleasant, subtle yet strong, the ballet resonates the idea of ‘ghungroo’ or the anklet as a metaphor which is the perfect musical adornment of a dancer, connecting dance to the divinities.An evening full of bliss and zeal, Khanak is split into three parts- “Goonja- Vibrations of the Universeâ€, “Dhvani- Sound of the Divine†and “Jhankaar- Rhythm of the Folkloreâ€. It encompasses a choreography which is pure and supremely graceful. Rendered by young artists, the traditional dance sequences are strung together with exquisite folk dances representing the rich Indian cultural heritage in its entirety. GROUP INTRODUCTION KALANIDHI Kalanidhi was established by Dr. Sucharita Khanna in the year 1999.
