The play is a lavish production. It cannot be categorized as a family drama or thriller or suspense play. There is everything in it including comedy. Interestingly, Kkusum Manhar Lele is based on a true story that happened in Pune in 1986. It takes a look at the dilemma of a woman whose husband claims their child is only his, not hers.
The drama, based on a book of the same name, was first staged in Marathi by Vinay Apte. It has also been staged in Gujarati titled Man Pacham Na Mela Ma by Feroz Bhagat.
The small screen's Kkusum, Nausheen Sardar Ali, makes her theatre debut with Kkusum Manhar Lele. Supporting her in this Hindi play are her co-stars from the serial including Kkusum's screen in-laws Sarla (Rupa Divetia) and Nitin (Nitin Trivedi). The other caste members are Arundhati (Manisha Kanojia), Raj Premi, Rajendra Chawla amd Sweety Nayak.
