Sonal Mansingh in "Odissi & Chhau Dances from India"
Sonal Mansingh, with Chhau Master dancer Shashdhar Acharya and a live orchestra from India, will present Odissi Dances from the temples of Orissa, and Chhau dances from Sereikela and Mayurbhanj. Saturday, October 18, 6:30 PM, East Catholic High School, 115 New State Road, Manchester (near Hartford), Connecticut. Presented by VSEI (Volunteers in Service to Education in India). Proceeds will go to projects for Rural Children’s Education, Women’s Welfare, and Education/training of Disabled persons in or near Mumbai, Bhavnagar, Bangalore, Trichy, and New Delhi. Directions: The school is about 10 minutes’ drive from Hartford,Connecticut, off Route I-84, exit 60. From Rte 84 East -- exit 60 -- turn right -- 200 yds -- fork -- bear left -- light -- 100 yds -- Turn left into the school at the next light. From Rte 84 West -- exit 60 -- turn left -- 1/4 mile -- fork -- bear left --light -- 100 yds -- turn left into the school at the next light.
