Anjali Mitter Duva’s book launch
Anjali Mitter Duva’s debut novel, Faint Promise of Rain, set in 16th century India, will launch at Porter Square Books in Cambridge, MA, on Monday, October 13th, at 7 pm. Duva, an Arlington resident, is a co-founder of Chhandika, a non-profit dedicated to the Indian classical storytelling dance called kathak. She will discuss the genesis of her characters and story, and the link with the rich history of kathak. She will then read an excerpt of her book, enhancing it with some elements of dance movement, after which she will sign copies of the book. The event will also include a short performance by members of the Chhandika Youth Ensemble, as well as Indian snacks and masala chai.
