ISW Sanskar 2014
This year, Indian Youth Group is proud to present the second annual Sanskar, a high school team competition. The competition will occur on the same night as Showcase, April 26, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7 pm. Rules and guidelines (please read carefully): -Participants must be in grades 7-12 -Participants may compete in one dance each. -Each item has a time restriction of 5 minutes. -Each item must have a minimum of 4 participants -The entry deadline is April 1, 2014. -All Music must be in MP3 format and must be sent to mira.magner@gmail.com by March 20th. Please have a copy of the CD available on March 30th, 2013, and bring it to the program, in case of technical difficulties. -Everything is on a first-come-first serve basis. The competition segment will have a 10 item limit. Please register promptly. We will be awarding 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies (chosen by the judges). Groups will be judged based on the following criteria: Opening: 10 points Costume: 5 points Synchronization, Fluidity, Formations, Transitions: 30 points Grace, Energy, Expression: 20 points Incorporation of Traditional AND Modern Steps: 20 points Originality: 10 points Ending: 5 points Judges have been carefully selected as individuals who are not affiliated with any choreographers, and are 100%un-biased. Please remember that this is a friendly competition, and any concerns can be directed to the IYG EC, not the judges or other choreographers.
