BMM Healthcare Conference
Emerging trends in Healthcare: BMM CME 2013 Following Independence Day celebrations this year, from July 5-7 2013, Providence RI will be the venue for the 16th biennial convention hosted by the Brihan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM), an umbrella organization of 46 Marathi organizations spanning North America. As a part of this three day long cultural convention, a healthcare conference with Continuing Medical Education credits (CME) will be offered, providing an opportunity for healthcare professionals to grab a front row seat as renowned experts review the latest evidence- based guidelines on a broad spectrum of topics that meet the need of the hour. The CME aims to provide a diverse and inspiring mix of eminent speakers from academia and healthcare institutions to discuss emerging trends in the ever changing landscape of health care. It will bring top minds in the healthcare field who will discuss topics ranging from the globalization of medicine to the patient centered medical home. One of the defining characteristics of the South Asian community is its focus on education and professional growth. We take pride in the fact that a large section of our population consists of healthcare professionals who have earned a name for themselves in their respective fields. The conference serves as a platform for such highly established healthcare professionals from all over the US and India, representing various specialties, including Internal Medicine, Pharmacy, Ayurveda, Occupational Therapy and Nutrition to convene. Renowned MDs from Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s hospital , NYU Medical center, Rutgers University, U Connecticut medical center, Beth Israel Hospital etc will share their knowledge and insights on innovative and state of the art trends in the industry. In addition to featuring distinguished speakers and thought provoking panel discussions, the CME will also provide a forum for networking opportunities for all attendees. The forum has a symposium on the traditional Indian Medicine of Ayurveda with Renowned Ayurvedic experts from India and a presentation on Integrative medicine with the speaker emphasizing the mind over matter philosophy in healthcare. Other speakers will speak on Autism, sleep disorders in children, yesterday’s medicines and tomorrow’s cures, Use of Narcotics in healthcare, We are what we eat, Healthcare IT, Global healthcare and healthcare reform etc. Conference sessions would be conducted between 7:30-9:00 am on all 3 days in 2 parallel tracks, CME and non-CME.
