Saheli and Advice Discuss Domestic Violence
Speakers: Janet Trippi of ADVICE and Rita Shah, Saheli Domestic Violence Advocate

ADVICE in Shrewsbury works to break the cycle of domestic violence, through education, intervention and support. Saheli has been working to educate and create awareness about domestic violence, and to empower women in the South Asian community for the last 16 years. Now, the two organizations are coming together to inform the community about the services they provide.

We hope you will join us. Domestic violence is a taboo subject in society, but unless we make an effort to educate ourselves and create awareness, this will continue. You do not need to be a victim, you do not need to know someone personally who is suffering, to attend this session. Our goal at Saheli Shrewsbury is to educate, enrich and create a better day for you, by bringing informative, fun and educative sessions to you. When you educate yourself you are able to offer more effective help to someone in crises.

We'll have fun as the year progresses. This time, we want to tackle an issue that we all know exists, but choose to ignore or deny. Make a difference, spread the word, and participate.
