JAWWAD NOOR began his study of sitar under (late) Ustad Alam Khan of Lahore and is currently a disciple of Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan, a leading exponent of the Etawa gharana. Over the years he has also received guidance from several vocalists as he explores the gayaki ang (vocal style) of playing sitar. He is a member of the faculty at the LearnQuest Academy of Music. By profession he is an economics professor at Boston University and his research interests lie at the intersection of economic theory and psychology.
