An Afternoon With Famous Writer Mr. Amit Chaudhury
You will be delighted to be a part of a Reading session with one of the world most coveted writers of Modern day English Literature, on Sunday, September 22, 2002 , Mr. Amit Chaudhury. In this occasion we will also celebrate the first fund rasing event for The Boston Pledge, Inc. a non profit organization to effect direct grass root changes in underprivileged parts of the world with particular focus on Health, Education, and Entrepreneurship. A suggested donation of $15/single and $25/couple will be greatly appreciated. He was educated at the Cathedral and John Connon School, Bombay, at University College, London, where he took a First in English, and at Balliol College, Oxford, where he completed his doctorate on the poetry of DH Lawrence. He was Creative Arts Fellow at Wolfson College, Oxford, 1992-95, and Leverhulme Special Research Fellow at the Faculty of English, Cambridge, 1997-99. He is, at present, teaching the Fall semester at the writing division, School of the Arts, Columbia University. He has written four novels; his latest publication is Real Time, a book of short stories published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux. He has won several prizes, among them the first prize in the Society of Authors
