Vocabulary Skills Workshop
North South Foundation is hosting its Tenth anniversary National Spelling Bee and Vocabulary Championships at the Wong auditorium in Tang Center at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge on August 3, 2002. This is the grand finale of the contests which were held in Mar-May 2002 at 28 regional centers all over USA. Top finishers at each contest have been invited to participate in the Finals at MIT. Winners of this national event will be awarded scholarships worth $2000, $1000 and $600 repsectively for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. These contests are open to kids of South Asian origin. As part of the Tenth Anniversary celebration, North South Foundation is also sponsoring an unique event this year viz. a vocabulary skills workshop by noted educator Dr. Carol Tolman on August 4, 2002 in the Wong auditorium at Tang Center in M.I.T. starting from 8 AM. This is a splendid opportunity for parents and children alike to learn about spelling and general vocabulary skills.
