| Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain Khan - Sitar Sitar Maestro Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain Khan is an accomplished sitarist, with musical roots in the renowned Delhi Gharana (school) of Hindustani classical music. Trained by his father, Ustad Imdad Hussain and later by the legendary Pandit Ravi Shankar in India. Ikhlaq expressive playing has enthralled audiences in cities in India, Pakistan, Europe, the Middle East and the United States. Since his first recital at the age of 14 in Karachi, Ikhlaq Hussain has performed to great acclaim in concerts for Radio Pakistan and Pakistan National Television, at Peace Concerts in New York and Boston, the Rubin Museum of Art, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Portland, North Pacific Art College, the Indian Consulate in New York and the most recently, at the Arch Performance Space in New York. In addition to concert recitals, Ikhlaq Hussain is committed to preserving and disseminating his rich musical heritage through concerts, performances and teaching. Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain has been teaching sitar for 20 years and is a dedicated and skillful instructor. In addition to individual classes, he offers workshops and lecture demonstrations for students of all levels and lovers of Hindustani classical music.
