INDRAJIT BANERJEE - SITAR
INDIAN CLASSICAL MUSIC CONCERT Indrajit Banerjee is a young, highly renowned traditionalist Sitarist. He began performing as a child prodigy, and currently is under the tutelage of Pandit Kartick Kurnar, an eminent disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. Indrajit Banerjee astounds both lay music lovers and connoisseurs with his unique depth and poetic style. His sweet, lyrical musical eloquence blends with his sophisticated aesthetic sense in a distinct manner which both charms and tugs at the heartstrings of the soul. Indrajit Banerjee has performed several times with rave reviews all over Europe and Asia. Gouri Sankar is an outstanding percussionist. He has started Tabla playing with his father Pandit Shiv Sankar Karmakar. Since 1979 he has been learning from Tabla Maestro Pandit Sankha Chatterjee. He is an "A" grade artist of All India Radio and Television.

Directions: From Route 495 Follow Route 495, north or south towards Lowell, and take the Lowell Connector. From the Lowell Connector take Exit 5N, Thorndike Street and bear right off exit ramp, heading north on Thorndike. After passing Route 110, take a left at the next traffic light onto Fletcher Street. Proceed on Fletcher Street and on the second set of lights take a left onto Broadway Street. Follow Broadway to the intersection of Broadway and Wilder Streets at the UMASS Lowell Campus. The parking lot (Love joy) is at the corner of the intersection of Wilder Street and Broadway. The Riverview parking lot is on Broadway street behind Mahoney hall facing the river. The Oleary Library is on Wilder Street across the Lovejoy parking lot. From Route 93 Take Route 93, north or south, to Route 495 South then follow directions for Route 495 above (South Campus).
