Community Medical Screening / CVHTS
On Saturday, February 16th from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Hindu Temple in Middletown, 11 Training Hill Rd., we will be performing screens for hypertension and diabetes. Physicians will be on site to administer blood glucose tests and measure blood pressures and discuss risk factors, prevention, and treatment of diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Doctors will also be willing to answer other general health questions. Representatives from Merck and Sanofi-Aventis will be providing educational information on diabetes and metabolic syndrome and Bayer will be dispensing free blood glucometers and testing strips to those who need them. Lunch will be served, doors will be open to the public, and all services will be provided for free, thanks in part to sponsorship from Walgreens in Middletown. The temple is readily accessible by car and is located across the street from Middlesex Community College, where ample parking is available. Alternatively, it can be reached via the S1 bus, which leaves from 340 Main St. in downtown Middletown hourly on Saturday starting at 8 AM. The cost of the bus is $1.25.
