Gudi Padva / NEMM
In keeping with our tradition, New England Marathi Mandal will be celebrating Gudi Padva on April 1st, 2006. This event is a musical tribute to a celebrated artist, late Shri. G.D.Madgulkar from the world of Marathi literature and performing arts. Original idea and direction for this program is by Mrs. Madhavi Marathe. Late Sh. Madgulkar was prolific writer and poet. He successfully tried his hands in every stream of literature. Be it poetry, stories, epics, novels, autobiographies or lyrics. He has almost 30 acclaimed works across these categories. The subjects covered by him in his creations are just as varied. From mythology to the modern life, he could find something to write about everywhere.
