Vivekachudamani
We shall continue the study of Shankaracharya's Vivekachudamani ("Crest Jewel of Discrimination"), the 8th century text that summarizes the essence of the Hindu view of life. As usual, the class will begin with prayer and guided meditation. Having concluded the discussion on the physical and mental components of our personality, we are now studying the all-important concept of Maya: what it means, how it governs our life, and how we can overcome it.
