| THE GROUND REALITIES OF TSUNAMI RELIEF AND REHABILITATION WORK Grassroot experiences of a full time AID volunteer in Tamil Nadu, India-a conversation with Chandra Anil, full-time AID Chennai volunteer. Following the Dec 26th Tsunami that affected many districts of Tamil Nadu, Chandra was part of the core team of AID Chennai volunteers who worked on providing immediate and medium term relief to the affected communities. She is also part of the 50-full time volunteer strong AID Chennai group that is currently embarking on a 5 year long term plan to rehabilitate the affected communities. We are using her visit to provide a forum for our donors to be able to get first hand information on how the funds collected were used in providing immediate and medium term relief in the immediate aftermath of the Tsunami. In addition, you would also be able to get information on the longer term strategies for rehabilitation. During her visit to Boston, Chandra will talk with us about her experiences during the tsunami, AID-Chennai's relief work, their vision for the next ten years.
