Tsunami Relief Fundraising Dinner / SAAS
The South Asian American Students Association (SAAS) at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is hosting a Tsunami Relief Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, January 20th at 7 PM. It will be held at Walker Memorial, the largest and most formal dining facility on campus, located at 142 Memorial Dr.
All funds generated from the fundraiser will go to both the Association for India’s Development (AID) (www.aidindia.org) and OperationUSA (www.operationusa.org). AID is focused on helping the people who are not reached by government aid, providing the food and medicine that are desperately needed. Also, they will work long term to ensure the recovery of the victims and their surroundings. OperationUSA partners with non-profits in Sri Lanka, India, and Thailand to also try to fill in the gaps often overlooked. We are confident that the proceeds to both organizations will be well used and are greatly needed by the affected communities.
