| BOMBAY JAYASHRI / Carnatic Vocal R.K. SHRIRAMKUMAR on the Violin K. ARUN PRAKASH on the Mridangam Young, talented and popular, Bombay Jayashri is a sensation in the present era of South Indian classical music. She is one of the most sought after Carnatic vocalists, and has been performing to sellout audiences and good reviews all over India and many other countries around the world. She learned carnatic music initially from her parents N.N. Subramaniam and Seetha. Later she learned music from TR Balamani and then became a disciple of the legendary Lalgudi Jayaraman. Harnessing a facile and mellifluous voice with restraint and dignity, she presents her music with an intoxicating quality. She is a recipient of several prestigious awards and has traveled worldwide quite extensively giving concerts over the past decade. R. K. Shriram Kumar had his initial training in violin from Savitri Satyamurthy and had his advanced training from his grandfather R.K. Venkatrama Sastry and is presently receiving guidance from V.V. Subramanyam. Shriram Kumar also learnt vocal music from the great D.K. Jayaraman. He has accompanied several stalwarts in carnatic music and has travelled to US several times in the past accompanying leading artistes such as Vijay Siva, Sanjay Subramanyam, Unnikrishnan, Ravikiran and Rudrapatnam Brothers. He is also a recipient of several awards including the "Yuva Kala Bharathi," and the "All India Radio Prize." Arun Prakash had his training in Mridangam from the late Kalaimamani Ramanathapuram M.N. Kandaswami. He has accompanied several leading carnatic music vidwans including K.V. Narayanaswamy, D.K. Jayaraman, T.R. Subramaninan, Seshagopalan, Sanjay Subramanyam, TM Krishna and Ravikiran to name a few. He has been awarded the "Best Subsenior Mridangist" award by the prestigious Music Academy of Chennai twice in his career.
