Funeral Service / Sharad Shastry
We are very sad to inform you that Sharad Shastry of Northborough, Mass., a prominent member of New England's Indian-American community, passed away on Tuesday, April 6. Mr. Shastry was a member of the board of trustees and past president for the Sri Lakshmi Temple in Ashland, Mass. He worked for National Grid in Westborough, Mass., and held a degree in electrical engineering from Northeastern University.
He was the husband of Shobha Shastry, the owner of Alankar event/wedding planners and decorators. He is also survived by a daughter, Shaila; and two sisters, Champa Shastry and Pramila Nene, both of India.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Heart Gifts Processing, P.O. Box 3049, Syracuse, N.Y., 13220-3049.
