Mrs. Gauri Guha / Classical Hindustani/Bengali Music Concert
Mrs. Gauri Guha from Toronto, Canada
A well known North Indian Classical and Devotional Singer will be performing at the Sri Lakshmi Temple (New England Hindu Temple) on December 13th 2003 at the temple premises in Ashland Massachusetts at 4 .00pm She will be accompanied by famous tabla and other instrumental artistes. The concert is free. Mrs Guha will sing devotional classical songs on Lord Rama, Lord Shiva and Lord Krishna.
Mrs. Gauri Guha, is an acclaimed Indian classical singer, She started her training at a very early age. She obtained her Sangeet Visharad (Bachelor of Music) from the acclaimed school of Music, Bhatkhande Sangeet Vidyapith, Lucknow, \She holds a M.A degree in Bengali Literature from Jadavpur University, Calcutta, India. She underwent special training in Music with the famous Indian Classical singer Pandit . Kanan,, a teacher at Sangeet Research Academy, Calcutta. She was chosen by Government of India as Cultural Officer/Music Teacher to Georgetown Guyana, South America under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) program. She has performed Music concerts in several countries like the Caribbean Islands(Trinidad, Barbados, Jamaica, Surname etc.,), Canada, and the U.S.A. She is a well known for her lecture tour and demonstrations on Radio and TV. In spite of her passion and total commitment towards music, Gauri holds a senior management position in the Bank Nova Scotia, Canada. She produced her second LP record in 1986.
