| Bone marrow donor registry program What does this program involve : 1) Lab technicians from the nmdp will visit my apartment at the pre-specified date and time to collect blood samples of willing donors 2) They need the donor to sign a consent form (which basically asks for name, contact info, medical evaluation questions) and, just 2 teaspoons of blood from each donor 3) The samples then go to a lab where the HLA typing is done 4) If your bone marrow is compatible with anyone requiring a bone marrow transplant in the US, then NMDP will contact you. At this time, you can again decide whether you want to be a donor or not How is this good for the Indian community as a whole : 1) We create a database of Asian Indian donors in the US 2) If any person or his/her family suffers from leukaemia, they can use this database to identify donors 3) In a way, we are asking the Indian community to help us in a way that can be beneficial to the entire community in the future Date: 10/13/2001 Location: 26 Bay Ridge Dr, Unit F, Nashua NH 03062 Time: 9 am - 12 noon Contact: Priya Home: 603-888-3321; Office: 781-301-7047 Web: www.samarinfo.org Email: priya_mayur@hotmail.com | | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
