Karva Chauth Puja
Every one in the community is invited, mandir is open to every one and any women who wishes to be a part of our puja. If you have not observed fast but would like to be a part of the group any way, please do not hesitate to come. You may enjoy by just being there with other women.

Karva Chauth is celebrated on the 4th day after the full moon of Kartik month. All married women observe a fast all day, wishing for a long life of their husbands. It is very festive occaion in India and is very important holiday in the north.

Each women must bring the following items for puja. A thali with the following items in it:
Deepak, Mauli(sacred red thread),some Badam , Fruit,Sindoor,Mithai(barfi etc.), and karva(water in steel or silver glass)- we will supply the water-Mathri(7).

On this day we also give baya to our mother in-law , so what ever you want to give you may put in your plate( money or usually sari for the newly weds). This is offered after the ujappan is done to your mother in -law. If mother in law is not around you may give to the elder lady in the family.

In your Thali you also put whatever you may want to give to a Suhagan Lady - an offering to a married women. This is to get blessings from a married women. We normally give to one of our freinds( this is optional ) a lipstick or nail polish or chudian.

Please come dressed up in your wedding saris. On this day you wear red or pink. Wear the best jewlry , and makeup. Every one looks so pretty and happy every year at the temple. We have some chudian for sale if any one may wish to buy.
