Asian Awareness Month
Reading: Indian poet, author, and scholar Meena Alexander will read from her newly released collection of poetry. A native of India and North Africa, Alexander now lives in New York where she is a professor at Hunter College and CUNY. As a writer, she is particularly interested in "fault lines," the areas of fracture between one cultural tradition and another. Sponsored by the Wellesley Association for South Asian Cultures (WASAC) and the Women's Studies Department.
