Lec-Dem Natya Shastra (Classical Dance and Music)
We invite you to attend an exciting hour of Indian classical dance and music(live!) while learning the intricacies of the Natya Shastra!

The Natya Shastra, written in 2nd Century AD is considered to be the most complete manuscript that forms the foundation stone for all classical dance and music in India. It provides a flexible but rigorous framework that has allowed artists to create music and dance presentations through centuries. Dr. Pappu Venugopal Rao will speak on the intricacies of the Natya Shastra. Ms. Kausalya Srinivasan (Fulbright Scholar in Residence) along with students from Bridgewater State College and Dr. Krishna Raghvendra (Veena Maestro) will have dance and music presentations that exemplify the concepts in the Natya Shastra.
