| Networking Brunch / NETSAP This month's networking brunch will feature a presentation by Asha, an action group for basic education in India (www.ashanet.org). Asha has raised over $2MM since its inception in 1991 to support over 600 projects in India. Melli Annamalai, President for Asha for Education Worldwide, will speak about Asha's mission and also discuss opportunities for NETSAP and Asha to work together. Melli has been an active Asha volunteer for the last eight years. She has been the chapter coordinator for the MIT/Boston chapter of Asha, where she focuses on projects that make the government education system work better. In particular, she is involved with Viveka Asha Yojane, a joint program between Asha and Vivekananda Foundation, Karnataka, where 72 government schools have been adopted with the goal of improving them. She has a Ph.D in Computer Science from Purdue University, and is currently a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Oracle Corporation.
